What is National Payroll Week?
NPW coincides with the week of Labor Day, and highlights the achievements and symbiotic partnerships between America’s employees, payroll professionals, and various government programs and agencies. PayrollOrg, its local chapters, and others in the payroll industry use the week as a platform to spread awareness of the payroll withholding system, to host community service projects, and to educate others on how paychecks are calculated and how to get the most out of their pay.
Working for America
Each year PayrollOrg and its members seek the support of NPW from various national, regional, and local government agencies and officials. Every year, the campaign receives numerous government proclamations and letters of support from Governors, members of Congress, and more.
The "Getting Paid In America" Survey
The annual “Getting Paid In America” survey enables PayrollOrg to gauge changing trends and attitudes towards payroll and time and attendance topics. Survey results allow PayrollOrg to keep the public informed of important topics, such as the growth of electronic wage payments, the financial state of employees, and more. Findings from the survey often make media headlines.
Money Matters National Education Day empowers payroll professionals to educate the upcoming generations of employees on paycheck basics. Each year, hundreds of volunteers sign-up to teach financial literacy to the future employees of America. Volunteers teach MMNED lessons in local schools, to area youth organizations, church groups, and more.
Throughout the history of the campaign, the NPW message has been shared in leading print, digital, television, and radio outlets. These include USA Today, The New York Times Magazine, Yahoo! Finance, and many more.
Get started planning your celebration.
